On Friday evening, August 31, enjoy tasting craft beers from around the world during the International Craft Brew Tasting. The Grand Tasting will be on the Esplanade at the Savannah International Trade & Convention Center on Saturday, September 1. The event will feature offerings from more than 45 breweries, live music, featuring the Chuck Courtenay Band and Bottles and Cans, good food and more!
Last night several of our guests were able to experience some of the filming of new “CBGB” movie being filmed here in Savannah. Movie magic has moved Congress Street in downtown more than 800 miles north and nearly four decades back in time. The filmmakers behind the movie (now filming in Savannah) have recreated New York’s Bowery neighborhood during its gritty days in the 1970s. Even the businesses surrounding the club have been resurrected, including the Palace Hotel. ‘CBGB’ – is a movie about the CBGB club in New York that is credited with launching many American punk rock bands.

We just had a very special guest stay at the inn: Paul Cullen! Paul is a well-known song writer, musician and performer from Delaware. He has two CD’s out: “Dreamdance & Paradise” & “Eleven Sundays”. He has also launched his own line of wine: SONATA. There are three types of wine: Rosso, a Cabernet fusion; Bianco, a Pinot Grigio; and Rose. Last night Paul invited Glenn and me and our guest to a wine tasting in our parlors. We played Paul’s CD’s, enjoyed his wine and had a great time.
